What We’ve Been Up To Lately

May 15, 2013 by Kara 2 Comments

You might be asking yourself what’s been going on with us or where have we been or maybe you couldn’t care less, either way I feel the need to share.
We’ve been a little busy over the last year, so I’m sorry for the lack of postings! Here is a recap of what we’ve been up to lately (please forgive the iPhone/Instagram photos as we’ve barely gotten our real camera out – bad blogger, bad)…

We bought a house and moved in during the hottest weekend of the year last July.

Had some trees taken out. Much better!!

My husband severly sprained his ankle the week before our big move. Yeah, good job there, hubby!

We started a bakery with some awesome friends. Check it out Panache Bake Shoppe.

We took part in a charity event called Cupcakes in the Park as our big coming out event, which meant baking several hundred cupcakes (which meant buying a cartload metric ton of butter).

About a week later, the bakery had a booth at the Knoxville Zoo’s bridal show. It was so fun. We made around 100 of these for our display cupcakes…

The bakery made this adorable giant cupcake for a cute little munchkin’s 1st birthday.

We made goodie baskets for Christmas for all of our family. They included this yummy peppermint bark.

Christmas blessed us with lots of gift cards to Lowe’s and Home Depot (thanks to our awesome family and friends). So the hubs got himself some power tools (muahahahahah) and the house projects began.

Our new house has popcorn ceilings, which we hate. We’ve begun the painful (and dirty!) process of scraping them down room by room.

This also meant that we started painting room by room.

This gawgous yellow is in the dining room and office. It is Behr Pyramid Gold. For the office, we lightened it up by 50%. Who knew you could do that! Well, maybe you did, but I had no clue.

We organized our garage! Let’s hope it stays this way. 🙂

We planted some grass seed and revamped landscaping. Here is a before and after. So. Much. Better.

We upated our half bath – new light fixture, new faucet, new mirror. Paint color is Behr Vintage Linen. Love it. It’s in our foyer/entryway, half bath and a closet so far.

And we have spent way too much time cuddling in front of the tv with this guy. He’s kind of needy.
