Fun Easy Halloween Food Ideas & A Giveaway

I have some quick and easy Halloween party ideas to share with you today. When you are trying to throw together a fun and festive party for your family and friends or the lil’uns, it’s great to have fun, cute Halloween themed food that comes together in a flash!!

UA_HalloweenCollection_Updated2To start with, I love Urban Accents and their awesome catalog of products that make cooking at home with quality ingredients a cinch. This year they came up with fun Halloween products that are going to make putting together your party even easier and super festive.

Black-Cinnamon-Caramel-ApplesFor starters, how festive are these black candy apples? They taste like cinnamon flavored caramel and whip up really quick. Insert the provided wooden sticks into each apple, throw together the kit with a little water and corn syrup, let it boil until it reaches the hard-cracking stage at around 300-310 degrees on a candy thermometer, quickly dip each apple letting the excess drip off and around the apple, then set them onto buttered wax paper to cool. Done and done. Perfect Halloween treat for Snow White! Muahaha. The black color comes from natural charcoal powder. How cool is that?

Frankensteins-used-cotton-swabsNext up, my version of Frankenstein’s Used Cotton Swabs to gross out your friends and family..again, these slam together in no time. I used the dregs of my black candied caramel for these, but you could use any caramel or candied caramel coating. If you use regular caramel, they won’t get crunchy and shiny. You could also try the toasted coconut marshmallows to make these look even “dirtier”. Basically, stick a toothpick into each marshmallow and set them in the freezer. Once super cold, coat the end and edges of each marshmallow with the hot caramel. DO NOT DIP. The marshmallow will instantly melt and burn in the caramel. Set onto buttered parchment to cool. Then insert the toothpick from two marshmallows into each end of a cocktail straw. Bam. A giant used Q-tip!

Witches-Brew-CocktailFinally, you can use Urban Accents’ Grim Green Apple punch to whip together a drink for the lil goblins, but don’t forget about the adults. I used their Demon Dust to rim a martini glass in black sugar to make my Witches’ Brew cocktail so much more fun to drink and it will help you get through a Halloween party with 20 kids dressed up as Elsa and Batman. Find the recipe at the bottom of this post.

Don’t you just love a versatile product? You can also use the Demon Dust to decorate cookies or cupcakes. Use a stencil to dust it onto sugar cookies in spooky shapes.

Or shake some onto a plate for themed serve-ware for these crazy Wiches’ Fingers sugar cookies from Annie’s Eats.

Here are some other great ideas to make your next Halloween gathering spook-tacular from other bloggers around the web:

These spider deviled eggs from the Sweetest Kitchen are cute bites to serve up as an appetizer.

These Zombie Halloween Cupcakes also from the Sweetest Kitchen would be a delicious dessert treat to fit the mood.

This puke worthy way to serve up guacamole from Amee’s Savory Dish. All you need is a carved pumpkin, some chips and guacamole.

These healthy Cheesy Witch Brooms from SheKnows come together easily with pretzel sticks, string cheese and chives.

These adorable Mummy Dogs from Our Best Bites are sure to make the kiddos happy and they are super cute!

And then there is this French Bread Pizza Mummy from Skinnytaste. Looks almost too delightful to eat, but then again it also looks so delicious and we love Gina’s recipes.

This Roach Infested White Chocolate Popcorn from Hungry Happenings. A little more work to put this together for a party because you have to pipe each chocolate roach, but look at how fun!! Totally worth it and I love that she provides a template for the roach.

Finally, this Pumpkin-Shaped Cheese Ball from Lol Foodie that uses goat cheese, cream cheese and cheddar.

Here is the recipe for my Witches’ Brew Cocktail, but hang around for a giveaway at the end…
