Disney Fantasy | Eastern Caribbean | Dinner at Enchanted Garden

July 8, 2013 by Kara 1 Comment

The third rotational dinner restaurant on the Fantasy is Enchanted Garden. For details on also eating lunch here, see our post from departure day here.

Inspired by the picturesque gardens of Versailles in France, Enchanted Garden invokes a light and airy feel. In my opinion, this was the fairest restaurant of them all. 😉

To complement the beautiful background of the restaurant, the dinner fare served is market-inspired continental, which meant it was very fresh and light.

Because Disney can’t resist adding an experiential part of the atmosphere into dinner, the ceiling of Enchanted Garden slowly transforms over the course of your meal like the night sky moving from shades of light blue to purple and pink and onto a dark blue filled with twinkling stars. The tulip shaped lights also change to a pretty pink and open up as if in bloom.

The special bread for the evening was Multi-grain Loaf and Country Current Bread with Chickpea-Garlic Purée. I failed to get a picture of it.

For my starter, I couldn’t pass up lobster and had the North Atlantic Lobster Ravioli with Roasted Garlic and Sweet Basil in a light Tomato Broth. The ravioli was perfect, but the tomato broth was just not my cup of tea. It was served lukewarm, intentionally, which was just a bit too different for me. Lobster-Ravioli-Tomato-Broth
Rem, of course, ordered better with the Ahi Tuna and Avocado Tower with Crispy Noodles and Wasabi Dressing.

Next, I ordered the Cream of Green Asparagus soup with Crabmeat and Asparagus Tips. Flavorful, creamy and delicious.
Truffled Mushroom Soup
Rem got the Spinach and Raspberry Salad – tender Spinach tossed with fresh Raspberries, toasted Pine Nuts, and crumbled Gorgonzola and a Raspberry Vinaigrette.

Based on the fervent recommendation from our server and feedback from a fellow foodie and cruiser, for an entree, I chose the Pan-seared Sea Bass with Saffron and Fennel Risotto with a Sweet Chili Glaze. This was the best fish dish and my favorite entree, second only to the beef I had the previous night at Animator’s, at a rotational dinner. I have to exclude the dishes from brunch at Remy only to be fair.
Sea Bass Pea Risotto
Rem could not resist the scallops – he has a weakness for them. Caramelized Sea Scallops with Roasted Asparagus, Sun-dried Tomatoes, and Pearl Pasta, garnished with Caramelized Leeks and Veal Jus Reduction.
Scallops & Israeli Couscous
Again, I had the trio for dessert because I was so indecisive. Sweet Temptations – A trio of  Passion Fruit Tart, Sacher Torte and Strawberry Cheesecake. The passion fruit tart was the best thing on the plate. I’ve discovered that while their no sugar added cheesecakes aren’t bad, they aren’t great either. You can tell they are no sugar added.
Dessert Trio
Rem got the Banana Foster Sundae – Rum-glazed Bananas, Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Caramel Sauce.

I leave you with an image of the mickey fountain lit up in the center of the dining room.
