Review: Litehouse Fall Flavors & a Giveaway

October 18, 2016 by Kara 10 Comments

We all love a good Pumpkin Spice and to Pumpkin all the things – I am certainly guilty of buying out our local Trader Joe’s in everything pumpkin – but sometimes fall screams for caramel apple flavor and apple cider! And when it comes to caramel and apple cider, Litehouse has you covered!

With four different flavors of Caramel dip available from a brand that we’ve grown to love and trust, you definitely won’t be missing out on the other favorite fall flavor of caramel apple this season! Having tubs of ready-made caramel dip on hand just means that dousing everything in caramel will be that much easier this year! No fussing with homemade caramel sauce, which while delicious, can be so finicky to make! Try the Old Fashioned Caramel Dip drizzled onto our caramel apple cheesecake bars. Use the Butterscotch Caramel in homemade butterbeer to quickly whip up a rich fall beverage.

The Litehouse Butterscotch Caramel Dip might be my favorite of the caramels because it did indeed have a nice buttery flavor, which pairs well with the sugary sweet caramel. Each one of the caramel dips had a very thick texture. Cold they were not super creamy, but slightly more viscous. However, when heated they do become the perfect consistency for using as a dip for things like apple slices because it’s just sticky enough.

Old Fashioned Caramel Dip tastes just like it sounds, like a typical rich, luscious caramel – the perfect pairing for vanilla ice cream or chocolate brownies or on top of baked brie cheese. Not cloyingly sweet, this old fashioned caramel dip has a rich flavor that you could proudly serve up to family and friends! I’m thinking football season and tailgate parties.

The other flavored option offered by Litehouse is a Chocolate Caramel Dip – not something you’d always expect to see. Sure chocolate and caramel go together like wine and cheese. You often see these two flavors paired together in drinks and desserts, but I can’t recall when I’ve seen them combined into one dip or sauce. The profile was spot on – rich sweet caramel with hints of deep chocolate which helps to make this one not too sweet, but well balanced. I would love this drizzled over pumpkin bread or a plain cheesecake. For a sweet snack, I’d also dip pretzels into this one.

Finally, Litehouse has a Low Fat Caramel Dip that offers up 2 tablespoons with less than half the fat at only 2 grams per serving. The flavor of this one was almost identical to the Old Fashioned Caramel, but the texture was my favorite. It actually had a slightly creamier texture that was a bit easier to stir and spoon cold. You can see from the picture above just how luscious this one looks. I actually really enjoyed the low fat version and might honestly pick it over the others.

For fall, Litehouse also offers four flavors of apple cider – regular, Ambrosia, Gala, and Honeycrisp. We were sent a jug of the Honeycrisp Apple Cider Blend and I got so excited when I opened it up because we love Honeycrisp apples in this house – they are our favorite. All of their Apple Ciders are cold pressed, 100% juice, made from Northwest apples.

Blended with Honeycrisps, this cider has a unique tart, yet sweet flavor that makes this a very drinkable apple cider. Some cider is just sweet and difficult to drink too much by itself, but this is an apple cider that I can see myself enjoying all season long (if I manage to make it last that long). Hot or cold, this apple cider is delicious.

To enjoy these fabulous fall products for yourself this season, use Litehouse’s handy “Where To Buy” locator tool on their website to find them nearest you. Or you can just enter our giveaway!
