Disney Fantasy | Eastern Caribbean | Satellite Falls

July 2, 2013 by Kara 3 Comments

Satellite Falls, forward on Deck 13 of the Fantasy, is a new, totally unique area to the Fantasy. It quickly became one of our favorite spots of the ship. Being an adults-exclusive area had NOTHING to do with that – okay, maybe it had a lot to do with that. It was the furthest deck area away from the family pool and it stayed pretty quiet. When the falls were turned on, they drowned out almost any amount of noise. The view wasn’t too shabby either.

You could easily find an empty lounger facing off the bow of the ship for a view of the vast, expansive ocean with a guard to protect you from the fierce wind.

And a canopy to protect you from the sun. They just thought of everything for pale people like me!

The view looking towards the falls. A giant orb floats above a splash pool with a comfy bench seat.

Rem tested out the water on the first day to see how cold it was – yeah, it was pretty chilly when we were parked in Florida. It warmed up enough for us to brave the water later in the week, but in the shade under the orb that only lasted so long.

My uber handsome hubs did a lot of this in Satellite Falls – lounging.

And I did a lot of this – lounging and reading a good book on my Kindle.

They only turn the falls on, or gently cascading rain curtain as Disney refers to it, when the ship is parked and the wind speed isn’t at 5 billion. Ya know so it’s not blowing water in your face.

No need to fret about clean towels or getting cocktails at the bar. Disney has everything covered. Loungers are replenished with fresh towels constantly from a nearby towel hut and cast members are constantly on patrol waiting to take your drink order and fetch it from the bar for you. Basically, no need to do anything. Just relax!

Those giant orbs house the ship’s satellite transmitters. Pretty cool how Disney incorporated them into the design of the ship’s amenities. They think of everything, don’t they?

Oh wow! I had no clue. That is genius. Gotta love Disney being so clever.
