Decor Staples for Creating a Seasonal Mantle

October 3, 2017 by Kara Leave a Comment

This post is in partnership with Cost Plus World Market, a brand I love. All opinions here are my own.

I just have to share how proud I am of this organization! This post was supposed to go live yesterday, but out of respect for those impacted by the horrific events in Las Vegas I was asked to delay it to today. In light of this being for their Friends & Family event, kudos Cost Plus World Market. Our prayers are with Vegas!

Fall is officially here and that means the holiday seasons are upon us. This excites me because I love all of the fun ways to decorate for this time of year. Pumpkins galore, of course. Warm colors and cozy throw blankets. Spooky Halloween decorations. Turkey plates for your Thanksgiving entertaining. These are just a few of the things I love! One of the favorite spots in my house to decorate each season is the mantle above our fireplace!

I like to find several good staple pieces for my mantle that can be anchored throughout the seasons, especially fall and winter, so that when the season changes or a new holiday arrives with yummy decor those things can just be added in or replaced for a splash of fun. Pillar candle holders, lanterns or terrariums that can be filled with different colors and textures, pitchers, and vases are all good examples of decor staples. A large mirror or subtle piece of artwork look great hung above the mantle leaving space in the decor for seasonal wreaths, signs, banners, or art.

I’m all for decorating seasonally, but finding ways to make it more affordable by not having to completely redo your entire mantle or table centerpiece every single season. Purchasing a few seasonal fillers is much less costly on your budget and that way you can afford to splurge on these staple pieces and really love them!

Your local Cost Plus World Market is the perfect place to find great staple pieces that will make a statement and that are also not too trendy that they couldn’t last for years in your home decor. I also love that they feature some great affordable items, but also quality splurges! You can easily shop for these staple anchor decor fixtures AND your seasonal or holiday fun filler items in one stop! The Friends & Family event is the perfect time to shop! For those in Knoxville, our local store is in Turkey Creek and I’m in there way too much. To find your own local Cost Plus World Market, use the store locator tool on their website. Hurry into your local store though before this event is over on October 9th!

Here are some of my favorite decor staples for creating a seasonal mantle with links so that you can shop the items in this post.
