Disney Fantasy | Eastern Caribbean | Let’s Embark!!

May 17, 2013 by Kara 3 Comments

Well our friends over at Brownie Bites finally convinced us to go on our first Disney cruise! We boarded the Disney Fantasy for a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise in April for our 5 year anniversary. When you cruise with Disney, you will have a designated boarding time to prevent bottleneck at the port terminal. Efficiency…

Quaintness – You’re doing it right

May 18, 2012 by Remington 7 Comments

Every year if time permits, we like to go visit my Nana in Blowing Rock. You see, Nana is awesome. She was married to my Papa for almost 40 years before he passed away back in 2002. And she still fiercely loves him and talks about him as if he hung the moon. She treats…

Springtime strolls

April 23, 2012 by Kara 1 Comment

Spring has been here for awhile now, so I wanted to share some of it with you. I love this time of year. Everything comes out of hibernation, turns a bright brilliant shade of green. Flowers come to life. Dogwood trees start to bloom. The air smells sweet, fresh and clean, but still crisp. Our…

Knoxville Eats: The French Market

March 30, 2012 by Kara 3 Comments

I have been to France – only once so far in my lifetime. It was in high school before I really appreciated the “finer” things. Needless to say, I did not get to enjoy true French cuisine, let alone a delicious classic like a crêpe filled with strawberries and cream. So when I discovered that…

March 4, 2012 by Kara 1 Comment

In January, we decided it was time for a wintry hike in the Smokies on a weekend when the upper elevations received a nice dusting of snow. Our buddies, the Brownes, tagged along with us up the Rich Mountain Loop. The loop starts at the Cades Cove parking lot just before starting down the Cades…

Tales from the Top

October 6, 2011 by Kara 1 Comment

Well, while I’m holed up at the house with some “head crud” as the doctor called it, I may as well get this blog done. Seasoned hikers know to prepare for varying weather conditions. It’s why we look silly when we roll out of the house dressed in layers and packing rain gear despite crystal…

Jones Wedding, June 25, 2011

September 17, 2011 by Kara Leave a Comment

Remington’s childhood friend, Hannah, got married on a very hot day at the end of June. The ceremony was outdoors at the UT Botanical Gardens, which were actually designed by Hannah’s late grandfather. The reception was held at BridgeView at the Boathouse. Lots of windows and great views of the river!

Hiking Team Brown(e): Gregory Bald Flame Azaleas

June 18, 2011 by Kara 4 Comments

Last weekend, the Browne’s were going on a hike up to Gregory Bald to attempt to catch the infamous Flame Azaleas at their peak. They invited us along for the ride, err hike, I should say and we graciously accepted being the mountain loving, hiking crazed fiends that we are. Hubs knows about every trail…
