We’ve been a little busy for the last month as we prepared for the birth of our first baby and then welcomed him into the world on December 9th! Meet Asher Benjamin Brown.
Asher was born at 11:09 pm with a nuchal hand (fist up across his face) after roughly 95 hours of laboring naturally between prodromal contractions and early labor lasting non-stop for over 3 days then active labor for over 12 hours. He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and was 20.5 inches long. And he is just perfect!
Those last few weeks of pregnancy were spent uncomfortable, exhausted and scrambling to get everything ready. We put up Christmas decorations, shopped for gifts, got as much of our remodeled stairs done as we could, stocked up on must-haves at the store, got things ready at work, etc. Now that he’s here we are settling into a new normal, coveting sleep whenever possible, snapping tons of cell phone pictures, accepting lots of wonderful help from friends & family, introducing him to the world, but mostly feeding and changing the little guy. 😉
We will try to get back into blogging over the next few weeks, but in the meantime we are enjoying sweet baby cuddles.
